So finally, this had happened, Diane was honored by The Film Society of Lincoln Center. You can read first report from the event:

NEW YORK — Tributes typically come during the twilight of one's career, not when the honoree has, say, three films on the horizon.
So perhaps Monday night's tribute to Diane Keaton by the Film Society of Lincoln Center was an homage to only the first couple of chapters of the Annie Hall legend's career. After all, her next project, Mama's Boy with Jon Heder, is in theaters June 29. Other films in the works are Smother with Liv Tyler and Mad Money with Katie Holmes.

Keaton, 61, has 37 years of movies under her black-patent-leather belt, which during Monday night's tribute anchored a chic white shirt and black fishtail ball skirt ensemble that Keaton dismissed with her characteristically self-deprecating charm. "A skirt and a blouse — doesn't that sound exciting!" she said. "You can see that I went big."

Tributes almost by definition involve montages and, not surprisingly, the Sleeper star was none too comfortable about the prospect of watching herself for an hour in front of such a big audience.

But the film clips were not as anxiety-drumming as the night's finale, a 10-minute speech written and delivered by Keaton. "I'm not a stage actress, have you noticed? … I've sweated over this." So she shared her script in advance with friends, including Carol Kane.

"It's brilliant," said Kane, huddling with her friend in a dressing room just before showtime. "It's heartfelt."

Heartfelt, "that is what it is," said Keaton. "I master in heartfelt."

The theme? Gratitude. "I really do believe that gratitude is a hard one to kind of pull off, but it is the essence of everything for me tonight." She said she was grateful, and thrilled, by that fact that anybody came to toast her at all.

"Anybody" included Woody Allen, Meryl Streep, Steve Martin and Sarah Jessica Parker. Lisa Kudrow, a presenter, said she may have been Keaton's co-star (Hanging Up), but "the fan part will never go away."

Likewise the student part. "I just want to watch her every move, her every thought," said Kudrow, clad in a Keaton-reminiscent black pantsuit. Kudrow counts Keaton as a "very strong" influence. "I lean on everything she says or does … I just steal. I do."

Fan, colleague, friend — presenter Martin Short says he's "all those things" when it comes to Keaton, his Father of the Bride co-star.
"I think she's kind of sensational in everything."

BURNING ANNIE [Hall] finally hits theaters in NYC!

  • Burning Annie
  • Directed by Van Flesher
  • Written by Zack Ordynans
  • Produced by Randy Mack
  • College student Max (Gary Lundy of Donnie Darko) lives and breathes Woody Allen's seminal film, Annie Hall. In fact, Max believes the movie's message underscores the ultimate futility of romance. But just when Max begins to suspect that the movie is ruining his love life, a girl (Sara Downing of TV's "Roswell") who seems to be the modern incarnation of Annie Hall herself turns his world topsy-turvy. Meanwhile Max's friends—including Kim Murphy ("24"), Brian Klugman (Can't Hardly Wait), Jay Paulson (Go), Todd Duffey (Office Space), and Rini Bell (Jarhead, Ghost World)—must confront their own difficulties with the opposite sex.
  • This dark romantic comedy transcends homage as an original, unflinching, scathingly funny, bittersweet satire of modern love in the media age.
See ya at the theater! _Randy (Mack) co-writer/co-director/producer Armak Productions

Diane Keaton Rocks Skinny Jeans at 60!
02:59pm 21/11/2006
Diane again was caught by paparazzi somewhere, talking by phone and walking. "People" magazine put this picture with following comment:

Skinny jeans are much-maligned these days as being too young, too trendy or just plain unflattering. But looking at ever-delightful Diane Keaton in her skinny blues: We think she looks fantastic! At age 60, she's still retaining all of her signature quirky style -- note the wide belt, oversize plaid coat -- but updating it with a flattering and youthful twist. When asked by PEOPLE recently how she maintains her shape, she wisecracked "I don't do anything. They slapped a girdle on me." Whatever she's doing, it's working for us. So what do you think? Now that you've seen Diane Keaton wearing skinny jeans, will you?

Salute to Diane Keaton

Diane Keaton has been chosen by the Film Society of Lincoln Center to be honored at its 34th annual gala tribute on April 9 at Avery Fisher Hall. “Keaton’s career-defining roles in films, directed by Woody Allen, Francis Ford Coppola, Warren Beatty and Nancy Meyers, among others, have made her one of the most popular and beloved screen stars in America,” said Wendy Keys, the director of the gala. “Delightful, surprising, radiant and above all deeply independent, she has brought a variety of rich and memorable characters to the screen.” Previous honorees at the event, which began in 1972 with a tribute to Charles Chaplin, include Fred Astaire, Alfred Hitchcock, Federico Fellini, Elizabeth Taylor, Bette Davis, Audrey Hepburn, Clint Eastwood, Sean Connery and Martin Scorsese.

"REDS" new DVD-release
01:40pm 05/10/2006

This is what Warren Beatty said about working with Diane in "Reds" at a press-conference because of the dvd launching:

"There is, of course, a yarn connected with each person," Beatty said. "There's pretty much nobody in the movie who didn't fascinate me. Diane Keaton. You know, some people say that casting is character when you're making a movie. When you're close-up on a person, that's who they are. And then there's an old shibboleth that character is plot. I would say to you that Diane Keaton is a plot. And a very interesting plot -- a plot that can go in any direction at any moment. She's filled with comedic response and also a dark response. She can go light and dark, and I always felt that Diane and her subtleties and her sense of humor and her beauty and her intensity pretty much held the story together, because the story is a story that holds the politics and the dialectics of the thing together in the romance between a man and a woman."

He's a gentleman... ;)))

Tim Rasmussen and director Vince Di Meglio have written the script, which sees a thirtysomething bloke (Shepard) under pressure from his wife (Tyler) to start having kids who gets no help from his overbearing mother (Keaton) when she decides to move in. We predict hilarity. Or possibly lots of
